TEDx Wigan - 'Exhaustion is a Public Safety Crisis'

New from May 2026

New from May 2026

We’re really excited to officially launch our new pre-recorded Employee Wellbeing Workshops.

This collaboration between myself, Nicole Ratcliffe and Sam Flynn was created for one simple reason:

We know not every business has the budget for large-scale wellbeing programmes, bespoke training packages or ongoing coaching support, yet they would love to support their employees to thrive in life and work.

Check out the brand new, affordable pre-recorded employee wellbeing workshops that you can download and share with your entire workforce for as little as £300.

UK StartUp Awards 2026 Winner – North West Beauty, Health & Wellbeing StartUp of the Year

In June 2026, The Workplace Sleep Coach was named the North West winner in the Beauty, Health & Wellbeing category at the UK StartUp Awards.

Founded by Sleep Educator, TEDx Speaker and Independent Researcher, Nicole Ratcliffe, The Workplace Sleep Coach was recognised for its innovative approach to tackling one of society’s most overlooked challenges: sleep deprivation.

What started from lived experience after Nicole lost her own career to severe sleep deprivation following the birth of her first child has grown into a mission to transform how families, workplaces and wider society understand sleep.

Today, Nicole delivers preventative sleep education across sectors including policing, construction, healthcare, manufacturing and professional services, helping people understand how sleep impacts performance, safety, mental health and wellbeing.

The award judges recognised The Workplace Sleep Coach for treating sleep as a serious workplace, family and public health issue, rather than simply another wellbeing topic.

This award isn’t simply recognition of a business. It is recognition that the conversation around sleep needs to change.

Too many people are being taught that surviving on 4-5 hours of sleep a night is normal, necessary, or even a sign of success.

It isn’t.

This culture creates liabilities. This culture loses talent. This culture costs the NHS billions every year. This culture costs lives.

Nicole’s mission is to make prioritising sleep as normal a behaviour as wearing a seatbelt in the car.

Because sleep isn’t a luxury.

It’s essential infrastructure for a healthier, safer and more productive future.
